“Beloved” implies “chosen, an act of will", rather than of feeling.

See, when God chose us, He did it willingly, not reluctantly, not out of obligation. He chose to send His Perfect, Only Begotten Son, to die on the Cross for you and me, because of His Great Love for us.

John 15:16 (NIV) - You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit…

Jesus reveals to His disciples the Power of God’s Divine Choice.

When you see yourself as being chosen by a God who absolutely loves and accepts you, you will walk and talk differently and value who God designed you to be.

In my earlier years, I was convinced that I had nothing to give, no gift, no real talent, and always wondered why God would not give me anything of value. I struggled for years feeling inadequate, short-changed, and not enough. Because I saw myself that way, I behaved that way and missed out on many friendships, opportunities, and pure joy. I struggled with who I was, and it caused my focus to continuously be on myself and who I was not.

When we have a false understanding of who our Heavenly Father is, we will always carry a false identity of ourselves. Our thoughts will be consumed with who we are not instead of who He is. God calls us Beloved. He longs to be with us, to hear our voices, and to fill us with His Unending Affection. There’s no greater love we will experience than the Love of our Father.

In Ephesians 3, Paul gives us more insight into his reflection of the greatness of God’s Love. He expresses how complete, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep it is. God's Love touches every part of our being. Without the Holy Spirit revealing His Love to us, it would be impossible to grasp.

I encourage you as you read through this study, Breath of My Beloved, to ask the Holy Spirit to remind you of our Father’s Unending Love for you. Ask that He would reveal how deep, and wide His thoughts are toward you. And I believe you’ll experience God in His Fullness.
