Perfect Redemption: Easter Devotional for KidsSample
Peter's Denial
Peter was afraid of what the people would do to him because he knew Jesus and so, he denied Jesus three times. He did not do it because he wanted to hurt Jesus but he lied because he was afraid. Fear makes us do things that we should not do. We must always give our fears to Jesus in prayer so that they will not lead us down the wrong path.
How do you feel when your friends tell others what you told them in secret? It makes you feel let down, right? How much more if your friend tells others that they do not know you? You would feel bad and they would make fun of you. It could be a hurtful situation but Jesus forgave Peter even though Peter denied him three times. The good thing is that Peter felt some remorse later knowing that he should not have denied Jesus.
