Have you ever put together a difficult puzzle? Maybe you’ve made it almost to the end with only a few pieces remaining before you realize something terrible: The final pieces just don’t fit. You simply can’t get the last pieces into place for whatever reason. If we’re honest, this is what it feels like to follow Jesus sometimes. Sometimes, the things God calls us to as Christians don’t seem to fit together.

For example, we’re supposed to be confident in who God made us to be, but we’re also supposed to live with humility. How does that work? How can we be confident and humble at the same time? We find our answer in Jesus! When we look at how Jesus lived, we see confidence and humility playing out side by side. He’s confident in the calling God has given Him, but He also approaches that calling with humility. And as we follow His example, we can do the same!

Today, spend time reading about the life of Jesus in one of the books about His life in Scripture: Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John. Challenge your Small Group to read along with you and talk with each other as you do about how you see Jesus living with both confidence and humility.
