Take a BowSample
The space we take up often reflects where our identity is found. If you’re an athlete, your space is filled with practices, reels of highlights, games, and workouts. If you're an artist, your space is filled with painting, drawing, and putting your finished product on display. If you’re an academic, your space is filled with homework, grades, studying, and college prep. While all those things are great, it’s important to remember that they’re not the whole of who you are.
Instead of finding your identity in what you’re good at, what takes up your time, or what others ask of you, you can find your identity in God. You can put on the things of God—compassion, kindness, humility, and more—and let those be the things that define you. When you do, it will not only give you confidence in the other areas of your life that you value, but it will ultimately help your identity stay rooted in the right place as life changes.
Today, ask yourself where you might be finding your identity right now. Ask God to help you put your confidence in the person God made you to be. Pray that you will find your identity in the things of God more than anything else.
