Take a BowSample

What role do you play in your friend group, team, school, and home? Do you serve first or take first? Do you help and care for others or complain and criticize them? Are you lifting others up or putting others down? If we’re honest, we might admit we all play a little bit of both roles sometimes. Sometimes, choosing to build others up and put others first is easy, but other times, it’s not. That’s when we have to remember the way of Jesus.
When we follow Jesus, we know that real greatness is not found in being the best, most successful, or the most well-known or liked. It’s about being confident in who God made us to be and caring for others with humility because of that confidence. This is the way of Jesus, so even when it’s hard to put on this confidence and humility, we choose to follow His lead.
Today, think about just one way you can choose humility in one area of your life: your friend group, your team, your school, your home, or anywhere you frequent. What would it look like to be someone who showed up with Jesus’ confidence and humility in those spaces?
