Sometimes, following God can feel like a puzzle you have to figure out. It’s easy to think that if we just do all the right things, make all the best choices, and do everything we think God wants us to do, God will be pleased with us. But that’s not it at all! We’re all human, and that means, no matter how hard we try, we’ll never get it right all the time.

More than that, God isn’t asking us to get it all right all the time. All God calls us to do is trust and believe in God and live as though we do. That looks like being fair and kind to those around us, showing compassion to others, and putting God’s ways above our own. This is what it is to follow God in humility.

Today, talk to a trusted adult about where they see things like compassion, loyalty, fairness, and love on display in your life. Be encouraged by their words to continue living that way as you choose to follow God with your life.
