BEYOND THE TEARS

I never expected to be a single mom. I’d always valued the stability a two-parent household provided for kids, and I did my best to make the marriage work—until I couldn’t. Still, I never wanted my children to experience the sting of a family breakup. So, when it happened, the divorce nearly broke me—and truthfully, it took years to learn to let go of the pain.

Today, your heart, too, may be heavy with a pain that feels almost unbearable. Tears flow freely, and the weight of loss and grief seems to suffocate you. It’s in these moments, when the world feels like it’s crumbling around you, that it’s hard to see beyond the darkness.

The psalmist also understood the depths of emotional trauma. He faced the looming shadows of devastation in his own life; yet, even amid his despair, he held on to a glimmer of hope. He understood that beyond the tears, beyond the heartache, there was a promise of joy. He trusted in the assurance that tomorrow held the possibility of healing and restoration.

In your pain, it’s natural if your faith wavers a bit. Mine sure did, especially in the beginning. But even if the road ahead seems long and uncertain, you are not alone. God, the Source of all comfort, stands beside you, ready to offer solace in your darkest moments. He sees your tears, hears your cries, and holds you close in His embrace.

Take courage, Mama—your tears will not last forever! Surround yourself with those who love you, who will walk alongside you and offer a shoulder to lean on. Though the journey may be difficult, there is hope on the horizon!

Lord, I know You see my tears on my darkest days. Thank You for being near and for Your promise that joy will come in the morning. Amen.
