Living by the Spirit
The world around us operates based on what can be seen, touched, and understood with the natural mind. People rely on logic, experience, and human wisdom to navigate life. But as believers, we are called to live by a higher reality—the realm of the Spirit. Faith is not limited to what is visible; it connects us to God’s unseen kingdom, where His power, wisdom, and provision are at work beyond what our natural senses perceive.
Paul reminds us in Romans 8:6, “The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.” The flesh isn’t just about sinful behavior—it’s a mindset of independence from God, a way of thinking that relies on human effort rather than divine guidance. When we lean on our own understanding, we experience frustration, fear, and striving because we operate apart from God’s power. But when we surrender to the Spirit, we step into supernatural peace and provision.
To be led by the Spirit means choosing God’s wisdom over human reasoning. It means listening for His voice, obeying His direction, and allowing His Word to shape our decisions. The Holy Spirit speaks through Scripture, the inner witness of our hearts, and wise counsel. When we tune in to His leading, we align ourselves with God’s best for our lives.
But this is a daily decision. Each moment presents a choice—will you rely on your own strength, or will you set your mind on the Spirit? True peace comes when we surrender control and trust that God’s ways are higher and better than ours. Today, invite the Holy Spirit to lead you, and step into the abundant life He has prepared for you.
