When you became a Christian, the Holy Spirit was given to you and you were gifted with the presence and power of Jesus. Christians are the continued presence and ministry of Jesus Christ in this world. Do you know what God has gifted you to do? Learning to function in your giftedness will simplify your life. Your spiritual gifts are the best indicator of how God would have you spend your time in ministry. When you serve using your gift(s), you can be the presence of Jesus to those around you.

A spiritual gifts assessment may help you to discover how God has gifted you for ministry. Set aside at least thirty minutes for this exercise. Spend some time in prayer, seeking the leadership of the Holy Spirit before you begin. Then prayerfully work through this inventory.

Your ministry is not limited to your gifts, but your choices are more easily defined by knowing them. This inventory is provided to help you understand which part of “the body of Christ” God has created you to be. Your life will be simplified when you understand that not every need constitutes a call. You are only part of the body of Christ, and you are only accountable to God for that which he has called you to accomplish.
