Day 4: Imperfect Prayers

Throughout my life journey, I have discovered that I can pray to God, even in my brokenness. The truth is that we can come to Him, even when our words feel inadequate. God always hears us, even when we don't feel like we have the perfect words to say to Him.

As I shared before, while I often include bible verses in my prayers, I also know that there have been countless moments when I’ve prayed without knowing the right words to say to God. Some of these instances are when tears are streaming down my face, and I just can't get the words out. Yet, He has still answered me! Time and time again, He has proven His faithfulness.

As I reflect on Hebrews 5:7, I see how Jesus, too, prayed with fervent cries and tears. As we continue to read, we discover that he was heard because of his deep trust in God. Isn’t it the same for you and me?

I hope you know God does not seek flawless prayers; He truly desires our hearts. Our relationship with Him and our salvation is rooted in a genuine connection and a humble, repentant spirit—not in our good works. Finally, Hebrews 4:14-16 reminds us that because of Jesus, we don’t need to be perfectly polished when coming to God.

Take a moment to reflect: What prayer have you held back because you felt you didn’t have the right words? Don’t let that stop you—bring your heart to Him, just as it is.
