From Creation to CallingSample

What’s the point of physically coming to church? A lot of us might be wondering that, especially since we can listen to literally millions of worship songs and sermons streaming online. But God’s design for church goes beyond what you can download because church isn’t just about the content; it’s about the community. Of course, you’re here to learn more about Jesus, but what if the person on the stage or screen wasn’t the only teacher? What if the people around you were just as important in building you up and showing you what it’s like to belong to God’s family?
Reflection Questions:
1. Do you think it’s possible to grow in your faith without a church community? Why or why not? How has your church helped you learn and grow?
2. While pastors might do the majority of preaching and teaching, how have others taught you or encouraged you in your faith?
3. When it comes to church, many of us need to shift from a “What can I get?” attitude to a “What can I give?” attitude. Ask God to show you areas where you can give and serve your church community, and share your desire to serve with a friend or mentor. Ask them to pray for you and hold you accountable for following through.
