Discipleship: Foundations in the Old Testament – Part 1Sample

Discipleship: Foundations in the Old Testament – Part 1

DAY 1 OF 3

Carry the Word Like Fire

The word of God is not casual advice; it is life itself—the very breath of the Almighty. From the beginning the Lord declared, “These words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children.” Israel’s survival was never secured by armies or kings, but by the living Word passed from mouth to mouth and heart to heart.

Discipleship is this sacred fire—received, guarded, and transmitted. When the Word is burning inside you, you don’t merely speak it—you release the very atmosphere of heaven. Without this flame, we can offer only information; with it, we impart transformation.

Prayer

Lord God, ignite Your Word in the deepest part of my spirit until it becomes a holy fire. Let every corner of my heart burn with love for Your truth. Drive out distraction and unbelief. Make my mouth a channel of Your life so that everyone I meet today senses Your presence and hears Your wisdom through me. Teach me to carry Your Word the way the priests carried the Ark—with reverence and joy. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Action

Write a one-sentence personal creed declaring who God is to you. Speak it aloud morning and night for the next 24 hours, letting His Word become fire on your lips.

About this Plan

Discipleship: Foundations in the Old Testament – Part 1

Long before Jesus sent His followers into the world, the Lord was already raising disciples—men and women who carried His presence and His Word. Over these three days, encounter God’s ancient pattern of discipleship and learn to walk in the same fire today.
