Discipleship: Foundations in the Old Testament – Part 1Sample

Submit and Impart
Moses the prophet who spoke with God face to face bowed to the counsel of Jethro.
Later he laid hands on Joshua so that the Spirit resting on him would rest on another.
This is God’s pattern: discipleship flows through humble submission and intentional impartation.
If we will not receive correction, we cannot carry authority. If we cling to gifts as our own, we cannot multiply God’s work. In this rhythm the kingdom advances and the flame never dies.
Prayer
Father, clothe me in holy humility.
Break every prideful thought that resists instruction.
Give me eyes to see those You have placed as wise counselors in my life, and ears to receive their guidance.
Fill me with the courage to pour out what You deposit in me so that others may run farther than I ever could.
Let the anointing on my life become a river, not a reservoir.
In the mighty name of Jesus, amen.
Action
Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal two names: one person whose wisdom you need and one you are called to strengthen. Reach out to both within three days—receive counsel from the first and release encouragement or prayer to the second.

About this Plan

Long before Jesus sent His followers into the world, the Lord was already raising disciples—men and women who carried His presence and His Word. Over these three days, encounter God’s ancient pattern of discipleship and learn to walk in the same fire today.
