Breaking Hidden Habits to Find True Healing in ChristSample

FINDING BALANCE IN GAMING
What do you usually reach for when stress or emotions feel overwhelming? Do you resort to doing something to escape or to something purposeful? Gaming can be fun, creative and even social, but when it starts consuming your time, thoughts and priorities, it can quietly take control. In fact, research shows that about 8.5% of youths aged 8–18 develop a gaming disorder, often hiding behind screens to cope. God cares about every part of our lives, including play. If gaming leads you to neglect prayer, school, family, or church, pause and ask: Is this helping me grow? Am I honoring God with my time and focus? When Jesus is at the centre, even our leisure becomes a space of purpose, peace and growth.
LET US GET PRACTICAL
What would happen if you paused your game a few times a day to ask God how He wants to use your free time?
Before you start gaming, take a moment to pray and invite the Holy Spirit into your free time. Ask Him to help you use your free time for His glory. Set a timer to step away from gaming and spend time reading, praying, singing Bible verses and reflecting on a passage. Place Psalm 46:10 on your screen: Be still, and know that I am God.
PRAYER
Lord, help me enjoy games without letting them control my life. Jesus, teach me to use my time wisely and keep You at the centre of everything.
