Jesus Is Worthy

Jesus is worthy. What makes God worthy of our worship? There are so many reasons to thank Him for what He's done: saving us from death, for how kind and merciful He is, for every blessing He's given us. But you know what, even if those things had never happened, He would still be worthy of our praise. Why? Because "worthy" is not a status God earned by doing things for us.

Worthy is who God is, even apart from what He does. In the book of Revelation, John describes the worship that he sees in a vision of heaven. Imagine, "Worthy is the Lamb," they cried out…

Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power, and wealth and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and praise. And then he says, I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the sea, and in the sea, singing out praise and honor and glory and power belong to Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb forever and ever. Imagine that. And then these four living beings said, Amen. And all the elders that were there, they fell down, and they worshipped Him.

Wow, what a picture we see in Revelation 5. I get moved every time I think of it! All the heavenly beings are worshipping Him. They know He's worthy, even though He hasn't even acted on their behalf like He has for us. Jesus, the Lamb of God is holy, glorious, and worthy of our praise—worthy of all praise! And, can you just imagine it? He's being worshipped all the time in Heaven, just like that. So, when we worship here on Earth, we're joining into something that's already happening in Heaven.

Wow, that will give you a real focus and a purpose for your day today. Would you make some time to worship Him today? Sing His praises—spend some time with Him. He wants to talk to you. He's got something for you—to tell you. And you can tell Him "I love you."

Tell Him you love Him! He is worthy.
