Think about the best teacher you’ve ever had. What was it about them that made them so impactful and memorable in your life? Perhaps they were compassionate and kind. Maybe you were drawn to how challenging and smart their lessons were. They might’ve found a way to make class fun or learning something new more accessible. They were likely a great combination of someone who made you feel supported, empowered, challenged, and inspired all at once.

As Christians, we find ourselves seated at the feet of the world’s all-time best teacher: Jesus. As such a teacher, He modeled for us exactly how to teach well. With authority, with love, with wisdom, with compassion, with challenge, with confidence—all that and more define how Jesus approached instructing His followers. So, when He asks us to follow His lead and teach others to follow Him the same way we do, we can respond to that invitation with full confidence. Why? Because Jesus has shown us the way. All we have to do is follow Him in it!
