OVERCOME THE ORPHAN SPIRIT

Even with spiritual momentum shifting them into a new day, many believers remain stuck in a childlike spiritual state. They are unable to access their inheritance because their minds have not yet fully accepted the truth of what it means to be a son or daughter of God.

People who carry this orphan spirit are legally entitled to their Father’s inheritance but are not allowed to have control of it, because they still think and act like slaves to their desires, flesh, immaturity, and passions. They lack the self-control to be trusted with all that God has for them. Paul wrote to the Galatians, “The heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all” (4:1).

The orphan spirit is not just a feeling; it is a demonic strong­hold and a false belief system designed by the enemy to distort our image of our Father and His children. It is a deceptive spirit that whispers lies to an individual that they are abandoned, re­jected, and unwanted.

Nevertheless, the gospel brings hope and healing, restoration and redemption through Christ!

Romans 8:15 declares, “The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, ‘Abba, Father’ ” (NIV). This declaration is God’s design and plan of redemption for human­ity’s weakness. This powerful verse is the antithesis of the or­phan mindset.

The beginning of freedom comes when we shift our mind­sets from slaves to full heirs with Christ and beloved daughters and sons of God. As your mind shifts, you become an unstoppable force on earth to do the will of God, who sent you.

Father, renew my mind so that I no longer live as a slave but as Your beloved child who trusts You. Heal every wound and expose every lie that has shaped an orphan mindset within me. By Your Spirit, teach me to walk in the freedom, maturity, and inheritance You have given me through Christ. Amen.
