Your Freedom Was Always Meant to Overflow

What if the freedom you have received was never meant to stop with you?

Think back over this journey. You have been shown a freedom that was already finished, an identity that was already settled, a Father who already welcomed you home. That is a staggering amount of grace to receive. And here is the thing about grace: it was never given to be hoarded. It was given to overflow.

Paul makes a striking plea: as God's co-workers, we urge you not to receive God's grace in vain. It is possible to receive grace and waste it, to be freely loved and never let that love spill over into anything. But that is not what grace is for. Grace fills you up so that it can pour out. The same Paul says, by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. Grace that lands in a willing heart does not just comfort, it sends.

This is the moment freedom turns into co-labouring. You are now a partner with the Spirit in what God is doing in the world. All that energy once spent surviving your own struggles is now released to build, to give, to love, to make a difference. Remember, you are His handiwork, created for good works prepared in advance. There is a world that needs the free version of you.

So your freedom has a destination, and it is not just your own comfort. It is the people God will reach through a son or daughter who finally lives free.

You have been set free, set secure, and now you are being sent. Which means there is only one danger left, and tomorrow we name it: the quiet pull to drift back to the very thing Christ freed you from.
