DAY 3: A LIFESTYLE OF REPENTANCE
As we grow closer to God’s holiness and see his wonder, we actually become aware of our own sin in our lives. As Isaiah sees the King, he compares himself to God, not to others around him in his world. There are times in our lives when we see God, and we are convicted by God of the sin and things consuming our lives. God reveals these things to us so we can receive restoration and healing from the things in the past.
God calls us to be used by Him for his purposes and plans, but we need to live a lifestyle of repentance daily before God. To repent means to turn away from things we have consumed or been a part of in our lives. We repent because we don’t want those things impacting and flowing out of the world as we are sent by God. What is in our heart flows out to our world! So God is calling us to repent and turn away from things that have impacted our hearts negatively, so good things can flow from our hearts instead.
Let's let our encounters with God and view of God flow out of us as we are sent and commissioned by God wherever we go into the world. We can do this by daily turning away and repenting of things in our lives that would impact our ability to be used by God.
PRAY: God, I'm so sorry for the things I've done that don't line up with the best you have for me, and with what is in your Word. I repent. I know you want the best for me. Help me. Strengthen me.
