A Dramatic Unity

There is no closer relationship than wife and husband. On that wedding day, everything changes. The Word tells us that in marriage the two ‘become one flesh’; that is about as together as you can imagine. But there is also order and responsibility in this illustration; oneness does not mean sameness. It is amazing that God chooses such an ordinary event to illustrate such an extraordinary relationship – Himself and His church.



Prayer: Heavenly Father, I’m so thankful you take a loving interest in your church and those of us in it. I acknowledge your headship today. I choose to follow your lead, subordinating my will to yours. Thank you for your salvation; for the cross of Calvary. Thank you for the sacrifice that made our new relationship that much more valuable. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
