Information vs. Impartation
Impartation happens when the message has first mastered the messenger. Ezra 7:10 reveals the three pillars of ministry: Ezra set his heart to study the Word, to do it, and then to teach it. Notice the divine order—living the truth must precede delivering it. Until God's truth changes you, you are merely dispensing information. Theology without personal transformation is just theory. When you teach from a heart that has been actively broken and reshaped by the text, people don't just hear a sermon; they witness a living testimony. You cannot impart a spiritual breakthrough you haven't personally experienced. Ultimately, you reproduce exactly who you are.
Reflection/Action: Look at the three pillars in your own preparation. Are you rushing from "studying" straight to "teaching," skipping the crucial step of "doing"? This week, intentionally let your sermon text convict and change you before you deliver it.
Prayer: Lord, do not let me be a mere courier of information. Like Ezra, help me set my heart to study and live Your Word before I ever try to teach it. Let my public preaching be the genuine overflow of a transformed life. Amen.
