Satan's defeat Pt. 3
Thoughts on the Passage
This is one of the most powerful passages in the Word of God. It describes the authority of God’s people over the demonic realm – right up to satan himself. God has given His children the authority to win every battle against them. It is a defeat that satan must just hate. He is way more powerful that us, but he will lose every battle against God’s people when we fight like this – EVERY BATTLE. We do not do it in our strength, wisdom, understanding or intellect. We do it through:
-- the blood of Jesus.
-- the word of our testimony.
What does this mean? It means that satan cannot use our failures against us – the blood of Jesus covers every one of our sins, and satan has no basis for attacking us. It means satan must listen to our voices when our we speak of what Jesus did for us and His promises to us. These words carry the promise of action from God on our behalf – satan cannot hide from this; he cannot change them through lies, and he cannot avoid God’s action.
We see two more of satan’s defeats here. The fourth is his defeat at the hands of God’s people. The fifth is he is thrown down to the earth. He is bound tightly now to this physical realm. This is the only place where Jesus has chosen not to enforce His rule of iron. He has chosen not to do it, because His desire is to fill heaven. He waits for the nations to turn to Him in repentance. When heaven is filled - then He will bring this last rebellion under His authority as well.
So today, let’s choose to exercise our authority on this earth. Let us stand against satan – humbling ourselves (it is not our strength after all), declaring that our sins are forgiven, and declaring the promises of God over us and our world – in Jesus’ name.
Prayer
Father, I love this passage today. This passage declares the power of God available to us, Your children. In this world where satan has many still bound in their sin and bondage, we can go into these places and declare Your power, authority, and victory. He has no way to stop us on his own. We are always going to win. Help us today to catch a glimpse of this power and authority available to us. Help us to understand the humility necessary to exercise this authority. Help us to get a picture of how You want us to exercise Your authority in our world. It will have a declaration of the blood of Jesus, it will have a declaration of Your promises and it will have a declaration of Your work accomplished in our lives. So may I speak that boldly today. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Sobre este plano
In this wing of the gallery, we are introduced to the first of three women. This woman is a representation of Israel. As we journey through Plan 7 of Revelation, we see the pictures from the point of view of a Jewish believer. We also see the complete defeat of Satan and the authority we have as God’s children through Christ’s victory.
