Yahweh Tsuri: The Lord My Rock

Ps 144:1 Blessed be the Lord my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle

Rock speaks about our Lord’s enduring faithfulness and His firmness. He can always be counted on. His purposes and plans remain firm throughout history. When addressing Him as- The Lord My Rock, David declares that he stands on the truth of Who God is, His unchanging character and His complete work of redemption. And because of this solid Rock on which he stands, David is assured of victory in every battle of his life.

1 Sam 2:1-2 Then Hannah prayed: My heart rejoices in the Lord! The Lord has made me strong. Now I have an answer for my enemies. I rejoice because You have rescued me. No one is Holy like the Lord! There is no one besides You, there is no Rock like our God.

Whether it is for the future king, David or for a barren woman, Hannah, Our God has shown Himself to be the Rock. The God who gives us victories.

He gives us an answer for our enemies. He puts laughter in our mouth!

Whether it is the promise of a kingdom or the promise of a child, Yahweh Tsuri can be completely trusted to keep His promises.

Ps 62:1-2 I wait quietly before God for my victory comes from Him. He alone is my Rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will never be shaken.

The Lord My Rock wants his children also to be like Him- steadfast and unshakeable. When tragedy comes, and when the world around us begins to shake, still we will not be shaken because we hide in Him.

He is never shaken and so we won’t either.

♥ Response: Lord, You are my Rock and more reliable than the ground I stand on! You are more faithful to me than I am to You. Forgive me for the times I am shaken. As I trust in You, I will become like You- strong and steady. In Jesus’ name.

Declarations:

Lord, those who trust in You are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved. I trust in You and therefore I will not be moved. Ps 125:1

Lord, You are my Rock and You train my hands for war and my fingers for battle. Ps 144:1

Lord, when my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the Rock that is higher than I. Ps 61:2

Let’s pray:

Pray for peace in Mumbai so that God’s kingdom would keep advancing. Pray that it would be a safe city to live in.

The fear of God and a need for God would rise up in the hearts of the people

Pray that Mumbai would have open heavens and God would do mighty works in our city and people would come out of darkness to the light of Jesus.
