Jesus Revealed Pt. 19 - He Has Risen!Exemplo
Peter do you love Me? Pt. 2
Thoughts on the Passage
“But God, why do You ask me to do this, but You do not ask that person?”
That is a challenge that many of us face. God lets other people get away with doing things, but we get reprimanded by God when we do it. Peter is wondering why his destiny is to die (on a cross), but John does not have to face the same future. Why… why… why?
Jesus is clear – do not worry what God has for others, just keep your eyes on Jesus and follow Him. It is not easy to look around and wonder why others have it easier (or harder), but God has separate plans for each of us. These are good plans and are exactly what the Father asks of us. The grace to fulfill it is given to each of us.
Frankly speaking, there is enough of a challenge just doing what God asks us to do, that we cannot get sidetracked with what others say or do. Paul says that those who start comparing what God does through them versus others just demonstrate their lack of understanding and wisdom. In the end it is not the praise of men that we seek – we seek the favour and recognition of the Father. So enjoy the blessing that God does through others – but focus on what God calls us to do.
Finally, the stories that confirm Jesus as the Son of God cannot be contained in a simple book like the one John wrote. In fact, it is still being written today in the lives of people every day. Daily people call upon the name of Jesus and He confirms His Sonship in their lives and the demonstration of His power and authority.
What is your story?
Application
Take time today to think about your own story about Jesus. What did He do that only the Son of God could do?
Have you been discouraged because your story does not look as wonderful as some other people’s story? Take time to bless others for their story. Take time and ask Jesus to build your story to be the best it can be.
Time to Pray
Father, John does such a great job in encouraging us to see Jesus as the Son of God. It was a great time and a powerful time seeing Jesus through his eyes. Now, I want to see Jesus. I want to see Him as the Son of God with power and authority in my life. I want my testimony of Jesus to have an impact on my world as I follow Him closely. I want it to draw people to Jesus just like this book does. I do not want it to focus on me – I am not worth the time and effort. In the same way, I want to see Jesus in others as well. Jesus makes so many different people reveal His greatness and humility. What amazing books could be written even today. Help us write them well. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Sobre este plano
What would your response be if you saw someone die, their death was confirmed, and then see them walking around the next week? Most of us would do a double take in disbelief.. In Plan 19 we see the resurrected Jesus appear to certain people before going home to the Father. Is seeing Jesus important to you? Is it a good thing to want this?
