Walking with God in Business

Dia 9 de 12

Christ-like leadership is, in comparison to the world, upside-down and paradoxical: the least is the greatest. In other-words, it is service-oriented. Jesus, Paul and the other apostles embodied this, becoming nothing so that others will succeed.

Most of us, thinking business is about making us rich, not knowing how much we are loved and esteemed by God, desire to "make something of ourselves." We pursue a self-centered lifestyle, and try to achieve "greatness." "There's nothing wrong with making money," we say.

God knows our heart, though. How are we making money? What are we selling? Who are we trying to make money off of? Why are we trying to make money? Who is benefiting the most, others or ourselves

The opposite of Jesus's leadership is dominance. It creates fear, hierarchy, jealousy, competition, criticism, unhealthy comparison, insecurity, and pride. It takes from the many and prospers the few. It creates those huge wealth gaps and K-shaped economic recoveries.

Christ is always trying to make others prosper, even at great personal cost. It is worth it to Him. Will we join Him? He promises to look after us if we will. In fact, God is looking for people He can strengthen and entrust His resources with.

Jesus-filled leadership looks like:

-Willingness to become nothing so that others can become themselves

-Receiving personal validation from God rather than men

-Freedom from the need to receive honor from others

-Knowing there's always enough--we are co-heirs in Jesus' abundance!

-Treating others with honor according to their potential in Christ and NOT according to their dysfunction

-Exhibiting the fullness of honor, respect, and blessing towards other people

-Equipping and promoting others, launching them into their callings

-Excitement to see others (even “competitors”) succeed--JOY in the greatness of others

-Fellowship with other people (instead of isolation or elitism)

Jesus says that it is more blessed to give than to receive. There is MORE joy and life in selflessness than selfishness!

So, here are the Qs:

1.  What impresses you the most about Christ-like leadership?

2. How is the Holy Spirit asking you to honor others?
