Live in Love

Jude 1:21 says, “Keep yourselves in the love of God.” Do you know how much God loves you? He loves you so much that He sent His only begotten Son to die on the cross for you, to pay for your sins, to do His work in your life (John 3:16). God loves you, likes you, is rooting for you, and cares about you. No one can snatch you from His hand (John 10:29). You belong to Him. Whatever you're running from, or whatever you're running to, God can find you and change your life when you least expect it.

Two weeks ago, I went to the border with our mission director. We were invited, along with 25 pastors, to see all that's taking place there. We received a briefing from the head of border control, his second in command, and the person in charge of the region. They gave us the kind of tour that they would give to members of congress. We got in a little bus, following a Suburban, and went driving through the border to places where normal folks can’t go.

At the end of the day, we went to a place that was a Christian camp. If you are an unaccompanied minor and you come across the border, and you come under the supervision of border security, you are not simply sent back to your country. Because we have compassion as a nation, our laws require that unaccompanied minors be placed into homes that are all throughout the United States. Then, they await a court date, where a judge will decide whether they will be sent back to their country or be united with family in the United States.

The camp we toured had clean, very nice rooms. We ate lunch there. We spoke with the staff. They told us that in the last 12 years, at this one camp, 35,000 kids have come to know Christ as their Savior. They have handed out 50,000 Bibles. God is using the camp in a huge way. I couldn’t believe it! But what did it show me? It showed me that God is in pursuit of our hearts. He is in places that you wouldn't expect. Whether the unaccompanied minors go to the United States or go back to their home country, they are going out as missionaries, as disciples of Jesus Christ, living in His love. God can reach us wherever we are.
