Out of the Valley: 7 Days to Processing Brokenness and Getting to HopeExemplo
The strength brokenness holds is that it convinces us that we are the only ones who have ever felt broken; brokenness partners up with the comparison trap and likes to tell us that everyone else is doing better than we are, that we are completely alone in feeling lost, stuck, or empty. Brokenness tells us that this dark night will last forever. It likes to trap us into thinking that nothing will ever be able to touch our brokenness and make us whole or hopeful ever again. And maybe the most dangerous, heartbreaking lie brokenness whispers to us is that the heaviness we are carrying could never be loved, cared for, or understood by our heavenly Father. But those are lies. And we will not stand for them. However, in order to combat a lie, we have to identify it and be real about what we have believed about ourselves. SO STRAP IN. Here’s what we want you to do:
Step 1: Go to God in prayer and ask Him to help you identify where the enemy has come in and fed you lies that you accepted.
Step 2: Identify those lies. Typically they are thoughts that bring destruction to you and your relationships. They’re typically negative and full of doubt and keep you from being fully alive to yourself and all that God has for you.
Step 3: Now, write those lies down in your journal, a word document, the notes app on your phone... Don’t hold back. Be honest with yourself. You’ve got this.
As overwhelming as the list of lies in your life can be (especially when they are all laid out in front of you, now), God doesn’t let those lies have the final word.
His voice is louder.
His Word is our weapon.
When you’re finished here, we’ve got some Scripture for you to sit in and speak over yourself.
Sobre este plano
Healing is a journey, not a finish line. We don't just arrive at "all better now." The valleys of our lives can be deep and dark, and we don't want to breeze past that reality. Moving from brokenness to hope isn't a race, it's a marathon: so consider this your starting line. If you're tired of the valley and ready to fight your way out of darkness, let's get started.
