Service: An Unsung Gift of GodExemplo
Day 7: Unwrthy Servants
We might be tempted, having been so lavishly loved and served with salvation by Almighty God, to think that we're somehow worthy of His mercy and grace. But God's lavish love of us is undeserved.
We deserve God's condemnation. He doesn't owe us anything except an unfavourable judgement. And yet He delights to be merciful to us, to not treat us as our sins deserve.
And so, it's not unreasonable for God to expect us to serve Him. When we do serve God, we have no right to preferential treatment. We just have to do what is asked of us.
When Jesus returns, we should be hoping to hear Him say, 'well done, good and faithful servant.' But, we're not to pat ourselves on our backs. Instead, we should respond, 'we are unworthy servants, we only did our duty.'
'Lord, we long for You to say 'well done, good and faithful servant.' But please help us to respond in humility and obedience to Your Word. For the sake of Jesus we pray, amen.'
Do you have a sense of entitlement in approaching the King of kings? If so, take time to repent.
Thank you for completing this plan. Please join us in exploring how Jesus lived, taught and walked a life of service in our course, The Life of Jesus. Also, we invite y ou to sign up for our daily devotionals.

Sobre este plano
We all love receiving good service, but it's far less popular for us to be the servant. This plan reveals how we should all serve as God has called us to. Our motivation for service is the fact that God has served us with salvation. Having done that, it's not too much for Him to ask us to serve Him, and one another.
