Parents and Kids Daily Devotional "First Things First"

Dia 7 de 31

R.C. Sproul, an American theologian, and ordained pastor, once said that “The Holy Spirit has to change a person’s heart before he will ever say ‘yes’ to Jesus” It means that only God can touch a person’s heart, opening and enabling him to accept Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord.

However, our journey as Christians does not stop at salvation. We are responsible to live according to the salvation that we have received as shown in our deeds and speech.

The truth is our strength and might do not suffice to build Christ-like character in us. Thus, just as we need the Holy Spirit to accept Christ into our hearts by faith, we also need the Holy Spirit to mold our character to be like Christ every day. Only He can give us the ability to do so.

Devotion for Parents
Even as adults, becoming like Christ is beyond our abilities. As humans, we will fail over and over again if we rely on our strengths. That’s why we need the help of the Holy Spirit.

Today is the perfect time to discuss this with your children. Let them know that even parents have flaws and weaknesses because we are only humans. Just like them, we have to learn, every day, to depend on the Holy Spirit. All of us need the Holy Spirit.

Devotion for Kids
They say, to be a God-pleasing child is not easy. That is right! It is not easy at all, even for adults such as your parents and teachers.

Then how can we please the heart of God? Only one individual can help you to do it. He is the Holy Spirit. He enables us to do God’s wills in our lives.

The question is, would you like to invite the Holy Spirit to fill your heart and help you every day?

Family Devotion Time
How do we invite the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts and help us to do the will of God?

How does the Holy Spirit work in us?
