Nowadays, long-distance communications are done in various ways, such as through video calls, phone calls, text messages, etc. But in the past, the only long-distance communication available was through the mail.

The mail takes a long time to reach the recipients. It can be days or even months. Imagine waiting for the mail to arrive. You would need to be very patient. What do you think you’d feel once you receive a long-awaited letter? You would probably be over the moon!

According to the apostle Paul, we are the “letters” filled with God’s kindness and goodness. Many people are waiting to read the letter, which represents our lives, that speaks of God. What people? They are the people who have lost hopes, are in need of help, etc.

Let’s get excited and be encouraged to be those long-awaited “letters” wherever we are. May our lives reflect who Jesus really is and how much He loves everyone in this world.

Devotion for Parents
Have we been a living letter that glorifies God with our being? Do others see Christ in us and are encouraged to also glorify God through our lives? Let these questions sink in and let us reflect back on how we have been living our days. Take this moment to commit yourselves to be God’s living letter for others to “read” and come to know God.

Devotion for Kids
Our every word and action shows who we are and the God we worship. Have we shown the right image? Do our words and actions reflect the goodness and power of God?

Family Devotion Time
Ask each family member to name a person who, in their opinion, has been a living letter that glorifies God in both his/her words and actions.

Pray that every one of you can be a living letter who pleases God, today and forever.
