Still on the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. They were Jews of royal descent, of good stature, and of high intelligence. They were wise and full of knowledge.

When they were on trial for rebelling against the king for refusing to worship the statue, they chose to stay quiet and were not defensive. They only spoke when being questioned. They did not rely on their eloquent speech or personal ability.

When they were thrown into the fiery furnace, heated seven times hotter than usual, they were calm and at peace. Their faith did not fade away. Instead, they fully believed that God would help them. And even if God did not help them, they would not bow down and worship the golden statue of Nebuchadnezzar.

We know how the story ends. They were free. They were victorious. Their actions brought people to worship God.

The story teaches us to live right. Even in the midst of danger, we shall be able to remain calm and peaceful. Just like the verse that we read today - peace. That’s what fuels us to continue in our journey despite the problems and challenges that may come as we choose to live in the Truth.
