How Our Nation Heals

We’ve heard stories and read Scripture about how we don’t just go to church, we are the Church, and we exist for the world. We don’t run scared when things get bad. In fact, we’re brighter in the dark. And where love stops, law starts. So, we have one job: to love God, love each other, and tell people about Jesus. What we’re under changes us, and we’re under God. So, we stand out for Him instead of blending in for everyone else. And when our hearts become undivided, our churches become united, Jesus’ prayer is answered, and the world can see the Gospel. Thankfully, no leader or law could ever outlaw our faith. Because our faith is in God, and God is love, and against love there is no law. Then there’s Jesus, who is the way, the truth, and the life. Following after Him isn’t all grace, or all truth—it’s both, which leads us and others to a full life under God.

Do you want the above for your life? How about for your country? God was talking directly to King Solomon when He basically gave him the cheat sheet for a country’s course correction. You’ll read about it in 2 Chronicles 7 today. Here’s a paraphrased version.

  1. Get humble under God.
  2. Look up and pray.
  3. Seek closeness with God.
  4. Act the opposite of sin.

What we’re under changes us. When we get fully under God’s rule, we’ll have no option but to heal our world.
