Mountain Moving Faith

Dia 7 de 9

The third way the Lord can move mountains is the mountain of forgiveness. This one is twofold.

First, our sin may seem insurmountable. We may believe that we are beyond saving, beyond forgiveness. You might be thinking, “If you truly knew what I’ve done, we think, you would understand. You would see that I am beyond rescue. ”But remember if we have the tiniest bit of faith — faith the size of a mustard seed — and we put that faith in Jesus, our sins are wiped out forever.

Psalm 103:10-12 tells us, “He does not punish us for all our sins; he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve. For his unfailing love toward those who fear him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west.”

Second, we may find it impossible to forgive others. Humans do truly horrible things to each other — things that do not deserve forgiveness. However, Jesus is very serious about forgiveness. Colossians 3:13, “Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you so you must forgive others.”

Others may not deserve our forgiveness. However, neither do we deserve the Lord’s forgiveness. Yet, Jesus died a brutal death that we might be forgiven. Therefore, He commands that we also forgive. This seems illogical, even impossible. But by faith, forgiveness is possible. Through prayer, through faith, we can forgive those who have sinned against us. And we can let go of the hurt and leave God to sort out our hurts. And what you don’t understand is covered under the blood of Christ.

Don’t let unforgiveness be an obstacle to your faith. God needs our whole heart devoted to Him, not just the parts that you think are cleaned up. Instead, He knows how you’ve been hurt and loves you. Therefore, we have nothing to gain by holding grudges or harboring painful memories in your heart. Plain and simple, forgiveness releases you to be fully available to God by offering forgiveness to those who have wronged you. “Our vertical relationship with God is intricately connected with our horizontal relationships with others.”— Tony Evans.

We are called to love like we’ve never been hurt. Forgive and follow.
