A Child's Guide To: Knowing God Is Always Good

All By Myself

Our God, from your sacred home you take care of orphans and protect widows. You find families for those who are lonely.
Psalm 68:5–6a (CEV)

What makes you lonely? Do you miss your parent when they go to work? Do you miss your friend when they leave your house? Do you wish your friend went to the same school or church as you?

It’s sad when we can’t be near people. Sometimes we don’t know what to play without them, or we just want a hug. Our loved ones are gifts God gives us and we wish we could always be near them. Being without them in a faraway place can make you feel alone.

The good thing is that God is always with us. He never moves or has to go to work or is playing with someone else. He makes us his family.

So when you are lonely, talk to God like you would talk to your friend. Invite him along to go do something with you like ride your bike or color a picture. He loves to see you do what you love to do! He is always with you, even though you can’t see him.

HERO TRAINING

It might sound funny to spend time with God since you can’t see him. But try talking to him out loud or in your head. Tell him what your favorite color is and thank him for it. Ask him what he would like you to do today. He loves spending time with you!

GOD'S WONDERFUL WORLD

Sometimes animals adopt babies that aren’t their own. One cat family even raised a baby squirrel!
