A Prayer for Strength for Those Working Directly with Survivors

“We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop.“ – Mother Teresa

Dear God who gives endurance and encouragement (Rom. 15:5),

Working with survivors of human trafficking is not an easy task. I pray for those in the field, helping men, women and children on the path to restoration. Let them not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time they will reap a harvest if they do not give up. (Gal. 6:9) They can do all things through you who strengthen them. (Phil. 4:13) Though their flesh and heart may fail, you are the strength of their heart and their portion forever. (Ps. 73:26) I pray that each of them who labor and are heavy laden will come to you for rest. (Matt. 11:28) You give strength to the weary and increase the power of the weak.

I pray that each person in the hands-on fight against trafficking would hope in you so that his or her strength will be renewed. (Isa. 40:29-31) Encourage them with the reality that their obedience to the call and their “drop in the ocean” is making a lasting impact. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
