BECOMING PART OF A REVOLUTIONARY MOVEMENT

Isn’t it crazy? Jesus lets himself be sentenced, mistreated and executed; he gives up his life  so that we may be redeemed – and after his resurrection he entrusts the future of the church to a handful of disciples. A bunch of imperfect, immature, doubting (cf. Matthew 28:17!) adolescents are let loose on humanity…

But because Jesus was with them, a movement that writes world history and makes the name of Jesus known all over the globe has emerged. Millions of people have given their life to Jesus and have become a part of a community through which people encounter God’s love.

You are a child of this history, a result of the dedication and courage of others who fully trust God and follow his commission. Your faith is more than just “Me and my Jesus and my bible” – you, as a follower of Jesus have become part of a revolutionary movement!

So, Jesus’ promise is also valid for you: He is always with you and he is very determined to work through you – with all your doubts, imperfections and brokenness. Everything that is still missing in your character and faith will never prevent God from using what he has already put in you! 

ACTION STEP:

Become aware that God can use you just the way you are right now. Write down some points you are still struggling with in your life and faith (needs, doubts, weaknesses, mistakes,…) – and with these points in mind, proclaim that you belong to a revolutionary movement, with which God is writing history!
