Your RESET LifeSample

Your RESET Identity
When Jesus died on the cross, he was enacting the greatest exchange in the history of the world. This was the exchange—all of our bad for all of his good.
On the cross, Jesus took everything bad about us and gave us everything good about himself. Three days later, Jesus rose from the dead as a sign of how we can also experience new life in him for now and all eternity.
Our “old self” died with Jesus on the cross and our “new self” was raised with Jesus from the grave.
If you grew up in church, you probably learned that Jesus died to forgive your sins. And while that’s completely true, he was doing far more than that. Jesus was creating an entirely new identity in us—an identity not based on our failures but on his perfection.
What does that mean? It means when God looks at us, he sees the perfection of Jesus. It means Jesus did for us what we could never have done for ourselves. It means we can grow and become more like Jesus each day as we follow the way of His life.
How have your failures shaped your identity? How would having the identity of Jesus change the way you see yourself?
