What does it mean to pursue? To chase after? To relentlessly run down? We’ve all seen those animal documentaries where the predator is gaining on the prey. They twist and turn and jump and alter course. But ultimately, the predator gains the victory.
They pursued. They didn’t stop. What was at the other end of that chase was something so valuable to them – so powerfully needed by them – that they wouldn’t stop until they caught it.
Have you ever pursued something? Maybe you were trying to memorize lines for a class or a performance – you just kept reciting over and over again because you wanted to get the words right. Maybe you really love Oreos and you just continued to harass your mom until she finally bought you some. Maybe you’re chasing dreams for the future – college, a car, a job, a significant other….
Relentlessly pursuing Jesus means we aren’t giving up. We aren’t getting side tracked by other opportunities or people. We won’t stop until we’ve grabbed hold of him and wrestled him to the ground.
Would you consider yourself a pursuer of faith? How about a relentless pursuer? If you were categorizing your faith journey, what two-word phrase would you use to describe it?
Scripture
About this Plan

What drives us all is purpose: knowing who we are and what we are pursuing. Heartbeat helps teenagers explore their passion, purpose and relationship with Jesus.
