From called to CHOSENSample
Called Versus Chosen
When God created you and me, He did so for a purpose. We all have an assignment on the Earth – a specific role we were uniquely designed to fulfil. The Bible tells us that we are God’s masterpiece, created to fulfil the good works that He had established for us to do before the foundations of the world. It is for this reason God told Jeremiah that before he was formed in his mother’s womb, He knew him and called him to be a Prophet. Likewise, with Gideon, God called Him a mighty man of valour because that was who God created him to be.
The calling is our divine destiny, the path God has created for us to walk in, but whether we get to walk on that path depends on our attitude to God’s call. This is the difference between being called and Chosen.
In this Devotional Plan, we will learn from the examples of Gideon and others, how they were able to transition from being called to being Chosen. As we go on this journey together, let it be one of sober reflection and let us honestly ask ourselves the hard questions, so we too, like Gideon, can transition from being called to being Chosen.
About this Plan
I have always wondered what Jesus meant by many are called, and a few are Chosen until I began to learn through the story of Gideon. In this 9 days Devotional Plan (based on the book, “And they shall be called the Sons of God”), we will learn the difference between being called and being Chosen. We will also learn how to transition from called to Chosen.
