From called to CHOSENSample
Honour The Presence Of God
Once Gideon realised that he was in the presence of God, the next thing we see is that he honoured God’s presence by presenting Him with an offering. Giving an offering is not about the material – it about the heart.
An example of this principle will be Cain and Abel. They were both called to present an offering to God, but only Abel’s offering was accepted. Not because of what he offered, but because of the heart with which he offered it. Another example of this principle are the sons of Aaron – Nadab, and Abihu, who offered the wrong incense to the Lord and were judged as a result.
To honour God’s presence is to fear Him and appreciate Him for Who He is – just as Gideon did by presenting an offering to Him. Presenting an offering does not always mean something material. It can be a song of worship or praise, it may also be as a simple as lifting your hands towards heaven, dancing or clapping your hands. What matters is that you allow Him to lead you regarding the offering you will give and that you present it from the depths your heart, because the offering the Lord requires is heartfelt obedience to His Word and the leading of the Holy Spirit.
About this Plan
I have always wondered what Jesus meant by many are called, and a few are Chosen until I began to learn through the story of Gideon. In this 9 days Devotional Plan (based on the book, “And they shall be called the Sons of God”), we will learn the difference between being called and being Chosen. We will also learn how to transition from called to Chosen.
