Daily Devotions With Jonathan FalwellSample

Has there been a time when you knew the Holy Spirit was convicting you?
The role of the Holy Spirit in our lives is to be the One who is a discerner, who helps us to understand the difference between right and wrong. It’s the Holy Spirit's job to convict us when we need to be convicted. But if we are acting in a way that is keeping us from experiencing the power of God, our discernment will gradually decline. It won't function the way it's supposed to. If we are not doing what God's called us to do, walking in a way that God's called us to walk, then we ignore the role of the Holy Spirit in our lives. This is important because He is what keeps us from falling into sin and failure. We have a responsibility to recognize those sins in our lives to which we so easily fall prey. We are responsible to care about our wrong doing. Brothers and sisters, this is where the rubber meets the road. Let the Holy Spirit be your discerner, and live righteously.
