New Hope Oahu - Scripture Songs 11 Day DevotionalSample
"Future and a Hope"
SCRIPTURE:
Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT)
11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
OBSERVATION:
During this time in Jeremiah, many of the Jewish people were captive in Babylon, thinking that God had forgotten them. But God had a Word for His people; there was a plan in motion, He has never forgotten them, and He will bring victory in the end!
APPLICATION:
There are times in my life where I fail to see the plan in motion. Sometimes it feels like day to day and not glory to glory. What I need to remind myself is that God is not only my Creator, but He is the great Architect of my life. He has blueprints and He has begun with the end in mind. Before my first day started on earth, He had blueprints for the completed project of me, not only me, but for this church and for this world. Philippians 1:6 says, “And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.” Much of this Christian walk is trust. Just like Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, the invisible path was always there, but faith and trust takes the first step. In fact, my faith is inactive until I come to a crossroad to activate faith. Faith is believing and knowing that God is faithful and will come through, but faith in the Christian life is a verb, it is an action, I will walk even when I cannot see, I am called to step out. God’s promise is that He will give us a future and a hope.
PRAYER:
Thank You Jesus for having plans and a design for our lives. Thank You for leading the way and making the path clear. Thank You for being trustworthy and faithful. Grow our faith to trust Your leading. I love You, in Jesus' name, Amen.
