The Harvest of the LORD
We all want an abundant life, where we are safe, wealthy, and productive. God agrees – He wants His people to live a full, happy life. But we are impatient. We want this good life in this world, here, now. God promises this good life in the future, in ‘heaven’ – what the Bible calls the New Jerusalem, the glorious new creation (Revelation 21-22). He is there now, preparing a place for those who belong to Him (John 14:2). Do you want a full, safe, happy, wealthy, productive life? Trust Jesus. And look forward to enjoying life with Him in glory.
God blesses us with wealth in this life. How are we tempted to be greedy and selfish with it? How can we use it to bless and serve others instead? What difference does it make to know that real wealth, abundance, and joy, are not in this world but in the future, in God’s new creation?

Read through the book of Amos, which highlights the faithlessness, stubbornness and oppressiveness of God’s chosen people. In the end, take encouragement from God’s promise of future restoration for his people.
