Have you ever noticed how hard other people make it to do the right thing? Other people can make loving, caring for, forgiving, and honoring others really difficult at times. Maybe that’s why Paul encourages us to live and serve as if we were serving God.
Perhaps Paul knew that choosing kindness, love, and forgiveness would be nearly impossible if we were doing it with only other people in mind. Maybe he knew we would need to keep God the goal because otherwise, we would make a lot of excuses about why we shouldn’t serve others.
Today, think of someone you know you need to serve in some way. What’s one thing you can do for them this week?
