UncommonSample

What does it mean to be UNCOMMON? By definition, it means to be rare, above the ordinary, exceptional, remarkable … unusual.
Scripture says:
“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation and a peculiar people, in order that you should show forth the virtues of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.”
We all want to be chosen, royal, holy ... but peculiar? Not my go-to and probably not yours. However, in the original language this word described a sense of belonging, being a special possession. It’s not pointing us to a weird or awkward way of life. Instead, it’s pointing to our legacy. We are unusual, peculiar, UNCOMMON, because of whose we are.
Many of us struggle to believe we are one-of-a-kind, a special possession. Sometimes when lies consume our thoughts, we need to refresh ourselves with the Truth, and there is no better place to find His Truth than in His word. Take a minute or two today and ask the Lord how He sees you. Don’t be afraid. He loves to tell us how He feels about us.
Prayer:
Father, help me to see myself and others the way you do. Open my ears to hear your truth. Forgive me for believing in anything other than the truth and silence every lie in the name of Jesus. Amen.
