What is guaranteed to make us shine bright in a world of darkness?
Our LOVE. Every day we are surrounded by people who “speak their own truth” and “hashtag this” and “hashtag that”. But their (and our) truest need is to encounter the love of Jesus.
Faith, hope, and love. Jesus said the greatest of these is love. Love has been freely given to us. So let’s throw it around like confetti. Freely giving what we have freely received.
Be kind. Smile. Give someone a compliment. Pray prayers of blessing. Believe the best of others. Put others first, and don’t get tired of doing the good things. Living a life of love … that’s UNCOMMON.
Loving others isn’t always easy, but it is one of the most rewarding gifts we can give as believers of Jesus. Imagine what would happen if we responded first in love and not in judgement. We are the Kingdom’s greatest advocates here on earth. May we be advocates of peace, love, kindness, and unity.
Prayer:
Father, thank you for loving me so well. Help me to love others the way you do in every situation, every day. Amen.
