What does being UNCOMMON mean?
How do we take this magnificent calling and apply it to the practical everyday things in our lives? And how do we do that without fear, without hesitation, and with full confidence?
It starts with FAITH. You see, it’s UNCOMMON to believe in the impossible, to disengage from our electronic existence and pay attention to the life happening right in front of us ... and then to have the courage to step outside of the norm and believe in what we cannot yet see.
If you are a born again believer than you already believe Earth was created by words that came forth from the mouth of God, and you know that at one time the entire planet was covered in water. You have read of the 10 plagues in Egypt and how a sea opened its belly and made way for the children of Israel to cross through into freedom. You admire the bravery of Esther, Deborah, and Ruth.
And, you believe in a virgin birth. You believe Jesus spoke to the wind and waves and commanded peace. He healed the sick and caused the lame to walk again. He opened the eyes of the blind and raised the dead. You believe that Jesus died and rose again and that His blood paid a precious price for your life. If you believe He did these things, then you have the faith to believe that if He says it … He will do it in your life, even when it seems impossible.
That kind of faith… that’s UNCOMMON.
Do you struggle to believe that your hopes and dreams will ever become more than just thoughts and ideas? The treasures that you carry in your heart were placed there for a reason. Our God is a good God, and all He requires from us is the simple “YES” of faith.
Prayer:
Father, sometimes it is easier to doubt than it is to believe. Please forgive me for my unbelief. Come and breathe life into the dreams I have forgotten or neglected. Fill me with your hope. Today, I say "yes" to you. Amen.
