Hallowed Be Thy Name

DAY 10 OF 21

Yahweh Tsabbaoth: The Lord of Hosts.

Yahweh Tsabbaoth is a title of great power. It reminds us that all creation, even in its fallen condition is under Gods rule and reign. It speaks of the sovereignty of God over all the powers of the universe.

1 Sam 17:45 Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel whom you have defied.”

David understood the greatness of God when he went against Goliath with five smooth stones and a sling. The whole army of Israel saw the giant and shivered. David only saw the Lord of hosts and charged at the giant.

At times, Scripture speaks of the Lord of hosts leading a great army. Cherubim, seraphim, sun, moon, rivers, mountains, hail, snow, men and animals, all are, at times, called to fight in His army.

2 Kings 6:17 And Elisha prayed and said, “Lord open his eyes that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

Elisha’s servant was afraid when he saw the army of the King of Aram surrounding the city with horses and chariots. But when his spiritual eyes were opened, he saw another army of horses and chariots of fire protecting the man of God. This is what happens when the Lord of hosts fights for you.

Ps 46:10-11 Be still, and know that I am God, I will be exalted among the nations,

I will be exalted in the earth!

The Lord of hosts is with us, the God of Jacob is our refuge.

♥ Response: Lord, open my eyes as You opened the eyes of Elisha’s servant. May I see only the Lord of Hosts like David. May all the giants I face become shadows in the light of how great You are! In Jesus’ name.

Declarations:

Lord, You utter Your voice and the earth melts. The Lord of hosts is with us and the God of Jacob is our refuge. Ps 46:6-7

O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man who trusts in You. Ps 84:12

O Lord of hosts, restore me and cause Your face to shine and I know we will be saved. Ps 80:19

Lord, as David went on and became great because the Lord of hosts was with him, Lord, be with me too. 1 Chron 11:9

Lord, I hallow You, May You be my fear and may You be my dread. Isaiah 8:13

O Lord of hosts, You are wonderful in counsel and excellent in guidance. Isaiah 28:29

You are the Lord who divided the sea whose waves roared- the Lord of hosts is Your name. Isaiah 51:15

Holy, Holy, Holy are You the Lord of hosts and the whole earth is full of Your glory. Isaiah 6:3

Lord, I join with all creation to praise Your name, for Your name alone is exalted and Your glory is above the earth and the heaven. Ps 148:13

You alone are the Lord, You have made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their hosts, the earth and everything on it, the seas and all that is in them, and You preserve them all. The host of heaven worships You. Neh 9:6

Let’s pray:

Pray for all the young people in the church that their eyes would open to see the Lord of hosts and they would know that God is with them.

Pray they would be lovers of God and warriors of God like David.

Pray they would excel in their studies, jobs, ministries like Daniel. Pray for the spirit of excellence to rest on them.
