Hallowed Be Thy Name

DAY 9 OF 21

Jehovah Tsidkenu: The Lord Our Righteousness

Jer 23:6 In His days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell safely. Now this is His name by which He will be called: the Lord Our Righteousness.

The Hebrew word Tsedeq is usually translated righteousness. Righteousness means to be in right standing with God. What standing can we possibly have before Him?

Ps 24:3-4 Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place?

He who has clean hands and a pure heart..

We know that none of us qualify to stand before God. Even if we think our hands are clean, we most certainly know our hearts are not pure.

Israel tried to achieve this right standing on their own. God let them try and fail - only to point them towards a coming King whose name will be The Lord Our Righteousness. He will make all men righteous, those who believe in Him.

Rom 3:21-22 But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed...even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ to all and on all who believe.

The Galatian believers started their relationship with God by faith and then subtly tried to earn their standing with God.

Gal 3:3 How foolish can you be? After starting your new lives in the Spirit, why are you now trying to become perfect by your own human effort?

Paul declared that we start and end this journey on earth with God by faith in what He has done for us. Forever it is God who makes me righteous- at the beginning and till I die and stand before Him. I can never do anything to make myself righteous before Him. Forever He is Jehovah Tsidkenu for me- the Lord my Righteousness

♥Response: I thank You for giving me Your own righteousness so that I can stand before You without guilt, shame, condemnation or even inferiority. I believe in You and You declare me right in Your sight. In Jesus’ name.

Let’s pray:

Pray for your marriage that God would be honoured through your marriage

Pray for God’s purpose for your marriage to be fulfilled. Pray that both of you together would be a powerful force for God’s glory leading many others to the Lord.

Pray that you both will be faithful to God and faithful to one another always.
