Scattered: Doing Life as the Ministry Sent OutSample
It might be common to ask God why He has SCATTERED us for this season. We all want to know there is a purpose for this disruption in our lives that comes with so much uncertainty. And we might find the answer in His word or He might even tell us directly, but it’s unlikely that we find the answer we are looking for this side of Heaven.
In the verses you read today, you’ll notice that the Lord sent them away and SCATTERED them. If you read the previous verses, you’ll find that it was really the fault of the leaders of the people but everyone shared some of the responsibility.
But also notice what the Lord says! “I have been a sanctuary for them in the countries where they have gone.” I think many have missed being in their sanctuaries at their local churches more than anything else in this time of social distancing. At least among those who claim to be followers of Jesus, that seems true.
Is it possible that the Lord is wanting to do a new thing with His church during this time? He wants to be our sanctuary. I love His promises in the last verses for today. They end with the words that are echoed in Revelation, “They will be my people, and I will be their God.”
Could there be any better reason for a temporary season of being SCATTERED than that?

About this Plan
Life has changed in early 2020! We have been SCATTERED from our usual location of communities of faith due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. Can we find a purpose in the disruption? Is this the first time God's people have been SCATTERED? What can we learn from this season of disruption? Could God have a greater purpose for the church during this season?
